| Sir Malcolm Campbell set the world speed record on land and on water at various times during the 1920’s and 1930’s in the Bluebird. In the 1933 at Daytona Beach, Florida, he set a speed of 272.46mph to break his own Land Speed World Record. His amazing and fancy ‘Bluebird’ car now weighed four tons and was powered by a Rolls-Royce V-12, 36 ½ litre, 2500 h.p aero engine. The Malcolm Campbell 1933 Land Speed record presentation celebrates the achievement with original 20’’ press photos of the car on the beach surrounded by team members and of Campbell breaking the world record. The presentation also displays digital signatures of Campbell, Leo Villa and the entire Bluebird team and AAA officials (17 in total). Along with the photos, there is a Postal Cover franked Feb 22, 1933 and stamped New Record 273mph with a motif bearing the legend ‘International Speed Trials 1933’ and above an impression of his Bluebird. The Malcolm Campbell land speed record presentation comes with a stunning brush silver surround, with dual mounts and a plaque that list the above information about his achievements. |
