FAQs How does it work? By breeding Humboldt penguins in captivity, SEA LIFE is taking valuable steps to ensure the survival of a species at real risk. By adopting a penguin you are making a worthy contribution to their continued survival and you are also assisting SEA LIFE in their marine conservation efforts.
How long do I have to register my gift? You need to register your gift before the ‘register by’ date on your gift registration booklet. We recommend that you register your gift as soon as possible.
How long does my adoption last? Your adoption lasts for 12 months from the date of registration.
How long does it take for me to receive my certificate, photograph and free ticket? These will be dispatched within 28 days receipt of your registration details. Occasionally, factors outside of Gift Republic’s control may affect delivery times.
Can I visit the penguins? In the wild, Humboldt penguins live off the coast of Peru and Chile in South America so visiting is not possible. However, many SEA LIFE centres are home to a number of Humboldt penguins. By registering this gift you will receive one free SEA LIFE ticket to go and visit this vulnerable breed of penguin! To avoid disappointment, before you visit check with SEA LIFE that the centre keeps Humboldt penguins. Please note that due to ongoing breeding programmes or due to natural causes, penguins can be relocated at short notice, or may not be on public display.
