Do I have to choose my own surname?
No, you are free to provide any surname you wish.
Can you research a double-barrelled surname?
We would only be able to research the history of the first part of the surname.
Can you research any surname?
Our team of heraldic and genealogical experts have researched over 80,000 surnames. Very occasionally, a surname may prove impossible to research. In such rare circumstances you will be given the opportunity to choose an alternative surname for our team to research.
How long does it take before I receive my certificate?
This will be dispatched within 28 days from the date of registration. Occasionally, factors outside of Gift Republic’s control, may affect delivery times.
How long do I have to register my gift?
You need to register your gift before the ‘register by’ date on your gift registration booklet. We recommend that you register your gift as soon as possible.
How do I start tracing my family history?
Tracing a specific family tree can take a lifetime! This gift provides you with some vital hints and tips on how best to start your research. A blank Family Tree wall chart – for you to record your discoveries – also forms part of this gift. Good luck!
