On your arrival you will be in the care of friendly and experienced flying instructors who will talk you through manoeuvres so that you get a real feel of what’s involved.
Once you are airborne and away from the airfield your instructor will invite you to take the controls ( but relax you don’t have to! And if at any time you want your instructor to take back the control you only have to say the word). Before you know it you will be flying the helicopter – a truly exhilarating experience.
On returning to the airfield the fun really begins when you tackle the hover – the most important manoeuvre undertaken in helicopter flight and the most difficult to master. Prepare to impress your friends and relatives watching you from the ground!
If you rather leave all the flying to your pilot, you only have to say and your flight be taken as a sightseeing trip. In this case simply sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful bird’s eye view of the local area as your instructor talk you through. |
